Summer News

During this summer term the children have enjoyed a variety of events such as The Norfolk Show, Sports Day and the Summer Fayre, as well as school trips. Whilst these days are enjoyable, for some children, these events and the change to routine can be very unsettling and induce anxiety. Thank you for working with us to support your child. The children have been amazing, and overcoming their fears has allowed them to create some special memories.

The children are beginning to think about their next class, so I wanted to take the opportunity to outline SEND transition arrangements. Depending on your child's needs, they will take part in some or all of these  transition activities.

Transition Days- 14th and 15th July. Children will arrive in their classes in the morning. They will be told by their current teacher, who their next teacher(s) will be. The children will then move to spend the day in their new classroom.

Some children with SEND who find transition very challenging will be told about their new class and teacher on Monday 11th July. This will allow us to prepare them for the transition.

Following the transition days, some children will receive a social story showing the key details about their new class. They may also pop into the new classroom for visits before the end of term.

Children that find transition challenging, will be invited to visit their new classroom in September. This will take place during the afternoon of Friday 2nd September and arrangements will be made with the new class teacher. The classroom will be set up ready for the new term and you are invited to accompany your child whilst the environment is quiet.

Have a wonderful summer, we look forward to seeing you in September.
