September News- Welcome back!

It has been lovely to welcome the children back to school this term. Thank you for your supporting the children to come onto the site independently. There are always adults at every gate that are keen to assist you should your child need support.

It was lovely to see so many SEND children visiting the school during the afternoon of 2nd September. We hope the children enjoyed the opportunity to meet their new teachers and see the classroom set up without the other children around. We enjoyed welcoming parents in again for these visits.

For families awaiting speech and language assessments, please be aware of the following updates:

Norfolk & Waveney Children’s SaLT transferred to Cambridgeshire Community Services on 2nd August making closer working with Health Visitors, School Nurses and other Healthy Child Programme professionals much easier. The service is being redesigned to better meet the needs for all children and young people in Norfolk and Waveney.

They will update you directly with any changes to the waiting lists following referrals.

Please be aware of the range of services available through Just One Norfolk Health Advice & Support for Children - Just One Norfolk

Although this is a website I have signposted before, it is constantly being updated and there are some very useful webpages with current advice.

The YMCA are offering support to young people from 5- 25 with their Mental Health and Wellbeing. Should you have concerns regarding your child's mental health and feel they could benefit from some additional support please contact wellbeingmatters@ymcanorfolk.org

We are very pleased to be welcoming back our dance movement therapist for another term. She will support children to express their emotions and develop their confidence through dance and movement. She will be prioritising children in upper school this year and I will contact you directly if the teachers have identified your child as a child that may benefit from this group.

Our Nurture sessions will resume soon and Miss Kenny will be completing the 'Zones of Regulation' intervention with several children. This programme is being expanded this year as we have seen positive benefits with children that have completed it. It aims to promote regulation and a greater understanding of emotions.
